Martin C. Langhofer, DVM
Dr. Langhofer received his Bachelors of Science in 1973 and his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University in 1975.
Dr. Langhofer opened Western Vet Clinic in 1979 and has been a staple in our community ever since. He provided 39 years of service for small animal, equine and exotic patients. WVC has alwasy been known for progressive medical and surgical therapies and treatments. Dr. Langhofer has mentored many young people from all over the world with aspirations of becoming veterinarians. In 2018, Dr. Langhofer stepped down as the owner of WVC and handed over operations to the talented veterinarians, veterinary nurses and support staff who continue to provide a high quality veterinary service to the Michiana area.
At present, Dr. Langhofer continues to work part-time for WVC. His free time is spent with his 24 grandchildren, riding and training his horse, researching new veterinary therapies, participating in Christian Veterinary Missions, Bible Studies, and lecturing on veterinary medicine in the US and around the world.
Dr. Langhofer was awarded the 2001 Indiana Veterinarian of the Year Award and in 2009 the Alumini Recognition Award from Kansas State Univeristy, College of Veterinary Medicine. He has a passion to honor the Creator by helping animals and their owners. Dr. Langhofer says "Veterinary Medicine has been a rewarding occupation, with many challenges, rewards, and I would do it all over again!"
